It is that time again! The summer of 2008 will mark the 30th year since the Nova High School Class of 1978 marched down the aisle at the Sunrise Musical Theatre and out into the world. We've spread far and wide since then from California to Europe and points in between. But every five to ten years, like dedicated aging lemmings, we find our way back to South Florida to reunite for a two nights and three days of reminiscing and catching up.
In 1988, it is doubtful that any of us had ever heard of the Internet, world wide web, or email (maybe a few of the most advanced computer nerds, but that's it). Cell phones were the size and weight of bricks, cost a fortune and had one hour of talk time. By 1998 though, it was a brave new world of communications and email made it much easier to plan, reestablish contact, and communicate. The Internet even made it easier to find people and disseminate news.
Now in 2008 we have Web 2.0, the social web at our disposal. Web 2.0 is all about the connections. A blog is little more than an easily updated web page of information. Really Simple Syndication (RSS) makes it possible for you to subscribe to this blog and get the information from it in your Internet Explorer 7 sidebar, Firefox, or a reader. If you have an iGoogle or My Yahoo page, you can have an RSS feed from this blog show up on your homepage. Just look at the bottom of the page for a link that says "Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)". You may also see an orange RSS feed button on your browser tool bar. Now there is no excuse for you not to know everything that is going on with your reunion.
We look forward to seeing you in the summer of 2008! Looks like we've made it!
